I sometimes think my blogs could start their own reality show called "Flip This Blog."
I kid you not. I started with some ideas that were okay when I thought of them, but because I changed, the blogs HAD to change right along with me. BQ (my best buddy Q) wondered what was wrong with the old "Foolbard" idea (the blog that is now
"Of Grails, TARDISes and Towels"). I just told him the truth: it felt like an old, stale idea whose purpose I'd really and truly forgotten and that I've changed, so the blogs I have need to change with me.
This blog, now "Time and a Wyrd," used to be my old "Dine with the Divine" blog. Let's put it this way: I've put in as many hours reconstructing, moving things around and whatnot, I could have easily just completely deleted "Dine With the Divine," and started over with new posts. But I've already got Analytics and AdSense plus my Amazon affiliate stuff set up. It would be a pain in the behind to redo EVERYthing!
The only thing that's not showing up right now is the AdSense and the "Followers" gadgets. That's mostly due to "Googlogger" changing their display code for SSL (secure socket layer) sites as well as needing to verify this and that for my AdSense account thanks to their security changes. Which is fine. When updating blogs, update the nitty-gritty details that make a monetized blog worth, well, monetizing. :P
The only blogs that either did not get completely deleted or name-changed (I feel like I should have naming ceremonies or something, I've done so much "flipping" and "re-creating") were "21st Century Flower Child Sunshine Health" and "Once and Future Geek," both of which I will not link to from here yet because there's nothing to read on one and only one post on the other.
I swear on the Doctor's sonic screwdriver that there will be more posts. Just give me time to finish this main blog and some more fiddling with OAFG, some light schedule-making and it's "Allons-y!" with the blog posts from here on out! (Don't ask me why I've taken on David Tennant's Doctor's quirks...I can only say it's a Whovian thing. Though as both a fan of Dr Who AND Jon Anderson, I'd have a VERY hard time making up my mind which ship I'd fly on: the Moorglade Mover from "Olias" or the TARDIS. My Libra side asks, "Apart from the fact that the Doctor is a fictional character--why can't I alternate?")
Anyway, here's to fresh starts, blog regeneration, and weaving other good things into my life that come of really starting one's own business. Pretty soon, I will have more updates and postings on what's going on with this whole new world of mine.
And yes, I will explain why I have named my business what I've named it. It's fairly summarized in the header image text, but I figured I'd break it down further for everyone who's curious.
Now, onto bed! Allons-y! ;-)
