Greetings, Salutations, Bienvenue...and all that jazz!
So many things have been happening, so many changes have been going on for me. New ventures, new ideas, restructuring this, rethinking that. Whew!
It's time to take a much-needed breather in this moment of Now, to tell you what's been going on with me.
First off, because Mercury Retrograde is doing what Mercury Retro does, I've been doing a lot of reorganizing, rethinking, reworking, and so on.
Part of this has brought a new venture. I signed up to present my considerable writing and proofreading skills on the freelancing site known as Fiverr. I currently have four gigs, and am about to create a fifth, likely sometime later today (it is currently 5:48 AM my time, as of this posting!). It has only been one week and I have managed to earn myself some money already. Not a lot, since I'm just starting out, but the two gentlemen with whom I've been establishing a long-term business relationship over the last week seem to have no real end of work, and that is a very good thing for me.
Granted, it's not a "regular job," but I am feeling this is part of the career transition I've been needing and wanting for so long. I am tired of trying to knock on doors that have already been knocked on. It is time to turn my sails in a different direction. And yes, I do go by my inner guidance, to say nothing of what my angels and guides have been telling me via my intuition.
Now, the interesting thing about joining Fiverr and getting gigs already is that I am feeling that this is not only a decent step towards a career transition, but it is providing me lessons in prioritizing my time, energy, money and other resources. Things seem to be lining up for me little by little, and thanks to the fellow who's been providing transcription work for me already via one of my gigs, I am practically taking an MBA-level crash course in marketing--and being paid for it. All because he was willing to take a chance on me, despite prior lack of transcription experience. It seems I did a good job with the first transcription, because he gave me an excellent review and a pretty much instant recommendation to others.
I gotta admit, that feels awesome.
Now, back to the prioritization thing. Finding out just how busy I am likely to be, it has led me to the decision to consolidate my two geek blogs into one. Meaning, there will be no more "Once & Future Geek" or "Of Grails, TARDISes and Towels." And I got the name idea for the consolidated blog from the image I conjured for my friend as I was driving him home:
Two smaller galaxies colliding to make one great big one. And you know how big a cosmic event that is, if you've ever seen pics and video from NASA.
And boom! There's the name for my new, consolidated "geek" blog: "Galactic Geek." It will feature the same geeky stuff I'm into: arts, sciences, humanities, philosophy. If I geek it, it will be there. It will be a LOT easier to manage, especially since I am going to also create a writing-oriented blog over at Tumblr, in order to create a Tumblr page for all my ventures. Yes, I will have this blog over here, but over at Tumblr, if you want AdSense or AdWords on your blog, you have to get a separate domain.
Perhaps I will, at some point, but I need to do some more planning, logistics, etc...which will also take time prioritization, because I got the Fiverr stuff going, plus I still want to get back to my music, write my fiction stuff more, plus, of course, reading for others on the Doreen Virtue page. I've dropped the ball like crazy on that, and I need to get over there and tell them what the heck's going on with me.
Things are shifting in the positive, and maybe Mr. MBA-Dude's level of professionalism has been rubbing off on me already. I don't know.
All I do know is the more I get organized, time-wise, the less I will stress. The less I stress, the better I feel both emotionally and physically. And the more I get organized, time-wise, the more time I will have for the things I want to do, because I know I have the power to decide what gets priority, and what gets back-burnered for the time being.
Maybe what I might do is choose certain things that will relax me--like learning how to weave beads, which could turn into a money thing. And weaving beads is something I can do while sitting in my room, in privacy. But that means I have to figure out a place to keep the stuff. Another thing to plan for.
But you know what? I am in a deep learning phase right now. I am taking the bull by the horns, taking control of my life, and it feels so gosh darn good!
Way more emotionally satisfying than making pizzas for a company whose corporate office could care less about its workers. Ugh! The silver lining in that recent cloud was that I met some really good people to work with, and I finally learned that convenience store jobs like that just aren't meant for me. It finally sank into my very thick Aries skull that I absolutely must acknowledge and honor who I am, how I'm wired, etc.
Plus of course, my inner "Erik," (aka "The Phantom of the Opera") has been pushing, pushing, pushing at me to get back to my music, art, writing, etc. He's the "voice" that reminds me to do what I'm passionate about, what I'm born to do, what makes me dive into the ocean of passionate feeling and express it.
And yes, my friends...that also includes learning French. And I would be completely inauthentic if I did not say "Erik" and his story have been a main source of inspiration for a lot of what I feel and do as a human being. Because it has.
Oh, don't get me wrong: Jon Anderson (formerly) of Yes has played a key role in pushing me back towards music work. His music is, and always was powerful for me, well before I knew about Le Fantome. But I've been rediscovering that particular high school Love in the last year. And yes, it's felt divine. Is there a spiritual reason for it? As they said in the town where I went to high school:
"Ya, sure, you betcha!"
I will see you all later with another report. Perhaps not quite as long, or perhaps more with "bullet points" and a more organized post "format." But another report, it shall be!
A bientot, mes amis (See you soon, my friends!),

Blog Schedules and Mercury Retrograde
I have a better blog schedule for ALL my blogs, complete with topic ideas and days on which those ideas should be written.
But...and it's a BIG "but"...Mercury retrograde officially starts on Monday, coinciding with the New Moon, of all things.
And in my experience, when Mercury decides to take his three-times-a-year, three-week vacation (with shadow times a week before and a week after), you might as well do the same, especially if you don't fancy putting out a ton of metaphorical fires.
I do need to rethink, revise and rework my other business venture plans, and along the way, I'll need to pay attention to life lessons still coming around for review. Yeah, those words have the prefix "re-" in them, which, during Merc. Retro, are good words to act on. It's made Merc. Retro periods a lot smoother to deal with when I do.
So my plan from here till June 16th is to chill out, do the research, writing, soul-searching, etc I need to do. I'll just write posts in LibreOffice (this way I can pay attention to the word count), suss out sites I find via StumbleUpon, etc.
Now, the thing I cannot necessarily take a vacation with is my eBay stuff, so I will be posting items for sale, regardless. I'll just ask whichever angels I need to ask to override the retrograde force so I can bring in the extra income I need. Because saving the money to boost my biz and get out of my parents' place is one of my top priorities this year. Of course, I'll be reviewing everything every day, but otherwise, it's still gung-ho with listing stuff.
My gut's been telling me to cross-post my eBay listings on as many of my blogs as possible, plus "Tweeting." So I will try that, for sure.
Plus, I need to get AdSense on my spirituality blog, which I will make sure and do no later than June 16th.
My other plans include finishing the program that my buddy Q and I are building, using the Python language, as well as mocking up a GUI design in the Glade program for building GTK-based GUI's, as well as researching and studying HTML and CSS for the hub website I want to build. I may put up a basic site for the time being.
I might also revisit the idea of posting at HubPages again, as well as Squidoo, but I might take some time first and catch up to what others have been doing, as well as sign up under a different name and start fresh. But the key word here is "revisit." I'm not sure I'll do it, but we'll just see what happens.
Anyhow, that's my report for the time being. :-)
Peace,
Kat ^.^

Dusting Things Off
Has it really been almost a year since I wrote on this blog? o_O
Yup, it has.
Well, I'm nipping that in the bud right now.
I'm giving my eBay efforts a harder push. I have to, since I was let go from my pizza job a little over a month ago.
But for some reason, I was not quite as worried, sad or unhappy about leaving as I was when Meskwaki let me go. I think it was because my soul told me to give Casey's another shot because the boss there was easier to get along with, and I met at least one other Whovian!!!!!
So I came out of that pizza job with some emotional "stuff" resolved, I feel. Like I was balancing out some "karma" or something. I don't know, but I feel like my time in that kind of job is done. I have absolutely zero desire to work in a convenience store like that.
But running my online metaphysical store on eBay? That's something that gets my juices flowing. Enough so that I created a separate blog to post about my eBay doings. Just "tweeting" my eBay listings isn't enough, and posting links to listings here in this blog is gonna make those links get lost the more I post. I want to get more involved as a "shopkeeper," keeping tabs on what's going on with my fellow "shopkeepers" in the eBay community forums, talking about metaphysical items I sell with "Metaphysical Shop Talk" type posts, plus posting tips on how to speed up the process of listing things on eBay when you can't use TurboLister. (That eBay-based app is ONLY for Mac and Windows users, and eBay clearly has no plans to extend usability to us Linux users. Boo! Hiss! :P) All that and other ideas!
I feel like I am finally getting ideas together and doing something truly helpful with them. Now all I gotta do is shift my hours around so that I'm not sleeping most of the day like I have been lately. :P Being a night owl is part of who I am, but I gotta balance it out by having more day-oriented hours to do business-y stuff.
Oh, before I sign off, here is the link to my new blog: Owl & Lynx Magick.
Until Later,

My eBay Store
So, finally, I have an eBay store.
I only started it yesterday, and there is a LOT to do to make it look really nice, plus, of course, populating the store with the stuff I want to sell, but I am really, really excited to have started this venture.
I'm calling it "OwlLynxMagick," to honor my two primary power animals, as well as honor my Druidic path.
I've been wanting to run a metaphysical shop, and it is easier to start one online than it is to run a brick-n-mortar place. Secondly, with an eBay store, you get all these cool marketing tools to help with promotions.
I've also got my Amazon store to keep up too, and I need to build a main website to direct people to my various ventures, so it looks like I am going to be extremely busy these next few weeks.
All this and applying for a different day job, too. Whew! *wipes brow* ;-)
But I'd rather have my plate full like this than be bored outta my gourd with absolutely nada to do. Haha...thing is, I would CREATE something to do, for sure!
Check out my store link. It's pretty bare now, but I'll make a follow-up post when it looks a bit more lively. :-)
Blessings,
Kat ^.^

eBay Stuff!
In honor of clearing the way for my new path, and finding a way out of working for other people, I've been seeking things to sell on eBay--from Tarot and oracle decks I don't use too often, to things my friend Q gave me to sell.
I've got three things listed so far:
1) A copy of The Renaissance Tarot--very well-used. It was not mine to begin with, and I don't resonate with the art, so after a few months--maybe a year--of having it in my possession and not using it, I'm selling it off.
The Renaissance Tarot
2) A set of Healing Runes by Ralph S. Blum. I have another rune set I resonate with a lot more, and I am not personally crazy with how he has the runes arranged as far as order of appearance. He does not start with the usual order--"Fehu, Uruz," etc. He switched it around to suit his purposes, and that's fine if you are very familiar with the runes, but I would not recommend this set to a novice, or else you're going to get very confused. Study the original lineup first.
Healing Runes
3) Da Vinci Enigma Tarot by Caitlin Matthews. I love Caitlin's work, Da Vinci rocks, and I love studying the Tarot. However, I have decided I needed a firmer handle on reading the Tarot by other means, and Caitlin's creation is a lot more intricate, clearly not for beginning or intermediate Tarot students. Plus I need to create more space in my room, and will likely repurchase this deck when the above two conditions change. I figure, if it is meant to come back to me, it is meant.
Da Vinci Enigma Tarot
I also post brief Tweets about the stuff I sell, so follow me: Kat@TimeAndAWyrd
And don't forget to head over to my jewelry store, Mystic Connections to check out the work I've got posted. I have yet to post new work and likely Tarot/oracle offerings, but that will come in the next month or so. I'm working on finding a different day job, because my current pizza position is a little bit in jeopardy! Time to "Allons-y!" it up with my creative work, I do believe!
Peace,
Kat ^.^

Spirituality Blog...Created!
Well, it's created--and the first post written: My spirituality blog, called Spirit Ocean, Spiral Realities.
This blog--the "Time and a Wyrd" blog, used to be my old blog, Dine with the Divine...for some reason that just didn't pan out. Why? Because I changed, ultimately speaking. My path was taking a different direction. And a lot of the posts there made it seem like I was trying too hard. I was being TOO much in the sphere of the mental, and not from the spirit.
This time, it feels different. I feel like I have the freedom to be less analytical, less "pedantic" and more my REAL self. And that is quite a change from several years ago.
Spirit has called me to teach spiritual things, more or less, and be a healer, more or less. More than less, is what my intuition tells me. And I am not my dad. I don't "do" pedantic and "sermonizing." Not really. I'd rather be the sort of teacher who sits on the back porch or around a campfire discussing stuff with others and sharing what I know, what I've experienced.
So, that's that...call's been made, I answered. Because answering Spirit's call is a helluva lot more interesting and fun--dare I say "wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey"-- than the whole "what kind of pizza" spiel I have to go through every day that I work.
Speaking of my day job, time to go sleep. Allons-y!
Peace Out,
Kat ^.^

Spiritual Blog!
Hey, Everyone!
Just a quick announcement...As of this last three weeks, I've been shown a different path to any kind of business success I might want with music, art, etc. It's unavoidable. Signs and synchronicities are showing me a different way and I can't ignore how blatant these signs are. The concept of co-creation with the Divine Source has been a growing part of my life for the last decade or so, and it's becoming more and more apparent I need to follow this road or else I will be spinning my wheels if I try to do everything the typical "Earthly way."
To talk about this spiritual stuff in a blog that's chiefly for promoting what I do in my business ventures is a bit difficult, simply because I know how I get when I talk about my spiritual life--which infuses EVERYthing I do. My spiritual life inspired the name of my business.
Also, I've got all this stuff in my head and heart I want to share with everyone--things I'm learning, the new fork in my spiritual road, and so on. So the only logical thing I know to do is to create a spirituality blog. Not sure what to call it yet. But I am sure Spirit will help me come up with a name before the night is through. And Spirit's assuring me I will get readers...there are plenty of spiritual types out there who will read...
I'm just grateful for a scheduled-post feature, or else there would be no continuity with ANY of these blogs...
Announcement of Spirituality Blog and its name will be forthcoming.
Blessings and Peace,
Kat ^.^
